Rob Garrett’s “KING OF DIAMONDS” Las Vegas tribute show keeps going strong in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.
Besides being one of the best-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the music that defined generations — including some of the most unforgettable songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be preserved for audiences across the globe through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.

Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, at age 16, he Neil Diamond impersonator Las Vegas witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his musical idols.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..
